counsellors and ministers, and all that are in authority.

Holy Father, keep through Thine own name those whom Thou hast chosen in Christ Jesus; preserve them from the evil that is in the world; sanctify them through Thy truth; let Thy love be manifested in them; fill them with Thy Holy Spirit, that they may be one in Thee, O Father, and in Jesus Christ Thy Son; perfect them in the hope of His coming; give unto them a full entrance into His eternal kingdom, and make them partakers of His glory.

Give unto all nations, we beseech Thee, peace one with another; take away all ambition and wicked lusts, and all that would endanger or destroy godly concord; save us from bloodshed and confusion, and vouchsafe unto all Christian people to dwell together as brethren, in unity and peace.

Stir up the hearts of Christian parents to bring up their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. May the young be in such wise prepared to fulfil their calling in this life, that they may adorn the doctrine of their God and Saviour in all things.

Send forth the news of Thy salvation unto the ends of the earth; and turn the hearts of all men, and fetch all Thine erring children home unto Thy fold.

We pray Thee for favourable weather, and

that Thou wilt give us the fruits of the earth in due season.

We beseech Thee for all who are in trouble, sorrow, need, sickness, or any other adversity.

We commend unto Thee all departing this life, and we beseech Thee to receive them to Thy rest.

O Lord, govern us, we beseech Thee, by Thine own almighty power in all things; be Thou long-suffering with all of us, and turn unto us according to our supplications; remember us in Thy tenderness and Thy mercy; visit us in Thy goodness; help us by Thy blessing to escape, through the remainder of this day, the manifold wiles of the wicked one; and preserve our life from all snares by the grace of Thy most Holy Spirit; granting unto us to see the morning and the day in joy, that we may direct our morning prayers unto Thee; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

And unto Thee the Father, with the Son and the Holy Ghost, be all glory and praise, world without end.

Amen.

The Benediction.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all.

Amen.

THE

Morning Service.

HE sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, O God, Thou wilt not despise.

Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the Lord.

Prayer of Invocation.

GOD, the Father of our Lord and Saviour

Jesus Christ, the mighty God who art blessed for evermore, we Thy people and the sheep of Thy pasture, draw near to Thee with reverence and godly fear.

Look down from heaven, in Thy tender love, on us approaching Thee through Thy Christ, and sanctify our souls and bodies by Thy Holy Spirit, and strengthen our infirmity, that our

prayers may go up before Thee as incense, and be accepted as a sweet savour, through the same Jesus Christ our Lord.

The Confession.

If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, Thou art faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

O most merciful Father, we acknowledge and confess that we have sinned against heaven and in Thy sight, and are not worthy to be called Thy children. We have all gone astray from Thy way like lost sheep, and have walked in counsels of our own. We have known to do good, but we have not done it; we have named the name of Christ, but have not departed from iniquity. Our sins are more in number than the hairs of our head; and we are indebted ten thousand talents, and are unable to pay.

But, O Lord, we repent, and are sorry for our sins. We especially bewail before Thee those things which are the present burden of our hearts and consciences. We cannot stand before Thee as our Judge, but we flee to Thee as our Saviour, hoping in Thy mercies, which are more than can be numbered.

Forsake us not, O God, who put our trust in Thee. Remember not against us former transgressions, but remember Thy loving-kindnesses which have been ever of old. And as Thou wast ever merciful to Thy people Israel, as often as they in penitence turned unto Thee, so do Thou show the like mercy unto us, with whom Thou hast made a better covenant, confirmed and sealed with the blood of Thy beloved Son.

For Pardon and Peace.

Blessed be Thy name, O Lord, that Thou dost, through the ordinances of Thy Church, seal and make sure to Thy people the remission of their sins; wherefore we beseech Thee to grant to all of us who truly repent, and are resolved to walk in newness of life, the comfortable assurance that our transgressions are forgiven, and the peace that cometh from above.

Supplications.

Give ear, O Lord, unto our prayer, and attend to the voice of our supplication.

Pardoned through Christ, and risen with Him, may we have our affections set upon things above, and overcome the world with the victory of faith.

Take away from us, we beseech Thee, what
