the daily visitation of Thy grace, that when Thy Son our Lord shall come, He may find us fit for His appearing, and ready to meet Him, without spot, in the company of all His saints; who liveth and reigneth with Thee and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen.

The Thanksgiving.

E will bless the Lord at all times: His

praise shall continually be in our mouth. O God, Giver of all good, and Fountain of all mercies, in whom are the springs of our life; all glory, thanks, and praise be unto Thee for thine ever-flowing goodness; for Thy faithfulness which is from one generation to another; for Thy mercies which are new every morning, fresh every moment, and more than we can number; for seed-time and harvest, and summer and winter, and nights and days throughout the year; for food, and raiment, and shelter; for health and reason; for childhood and age, and youth and manhood; for Thy fatherly hand ever upon us in sickness and in health, in joy and in sorrow, in life and in death; for friends,

and kindred, and kind benefactors; for home and country; for Thy Church and for Thy Gospel.

Here may be introduced any other subject for

Thanksgiving.

Yea, Lord, for that there is nothing for which we may not bless and thank Thee, therefore do we call upon Thy name, and pay our vows now in the presence of all Thy people, humbly beseeching Thee to accept our service, even as we offer it in the name and through the infinite merits of Thy Son Jesus Christ, our Lord.

For Illumination.

Cause Thy Church to arise and shine, O Lord, and let her ministers be clothed with righteousness and salvation; that Thy word which is in their hands may not return unto Thee void, but have free course and be glorified in the world; prospering in the thing whereunto Thou hast sent it, and prevailing mightily to turn men from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive the forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified, by faith that is in Christ; to whom, with Thee and the Holy Ghost, be honour and glory, world without end.

The Lord's Prayer.

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed

be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation ; but deliver us from evil: For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory for ever and ever.

Amen.

Prayer after Sermon.

GOD, who didst teach the hearts of Thy faithful people, by sending to them the light of Thy Holy Spirit, grant us, by the same Spirit, to have a right understanding of Thy saving truth. Visit, we pray Thee, this congregation with Thy love and favour; enlighten our minds more and more with the light of the everlasting Gospel; graft in our hearts a love of the truth; increase in us true religion; nourish

us with all goodness; and of Thy great mercy keep us in the same; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Here may be introduced any special Prayers,
as occasion may require.

Intercessions.

O God, who hast taught us, by Thy holy apostle, that we should make supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks for all people, mercifully hear the petitions which we offer to Thee on behalf of others.

Almighty God, King of kings, and Lord of lords, from whom proceedeth all power and dominion in heaven and on earth, most heartily we beseech Thee to look with favour upon her most sacred Majesty Queen Victoria, Albert Edward Prince of Wales, the Princess of Wales, and all the members of the Royal Family,

Imbue all in authority with the spirit of wisdom, goodness, and truth, and so rule their hearts and bless their endeavours, that law and order, justice and peace, may everywhere prevail.

Preserve us from public calamities; from pestilence and famine; from spiracy, and rebellion; but national sins and corruption.

of righteousness; so, that, being blessed of Thee, we may become a blessing to all nations, to the praise of the glory of Thy grace; through Jesus Christ.

O Thou God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, cause Thy blessing, we beseech Thee, to rest upon the Church, which He has purchased with His most precious blood. Illuminate her ministers with true knowledge, and understanding of Thy Word. Send down the healthful dew of Thy grace upon all her congregations. Deliver her from false doctrine, heresy, and schism; and clothe her with the beauty of holiness and peace. Reveal Thy glory among all nations; destroy all wicked devices formed against Thy Holy Word; and bring in speedily the full victory of Thine everlasting kingdom; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

O God, the Creator and Preserver of all mankind, we implore Thy mercy in behalf of all classes and conditions of men, that it may please Thee to visit them with Thy most compassionate help, according to their manifold necessities and wants. Especially we beseech Thee to show pity upon all widows and orphans, upon all prisoners and captives, upon all sick and dying persons, upon those who are desolate or sore afflicted in any way, and upon all such as are persecuted for righteousness' sake.
