Loved this book. Great overview of the battles. Loved how the historical setting and results of the battles were in there so it wasn't just "Here's a battle! This is what happened! This is who won!"

have to wonder how this book lists ain jalut, but makes little mention of the mongols destroying samarkand. they destroy a culture, set science back who knows how many centuries, nearly wipe out a religion, change how a region views the rest of the world both east and west of that region, but is not listed in this book.  

Great Book! Absolutely love it.
It is the best compilation of battles that I have ever read (and I have read several).
