Whereupon he said to them, "Cast ye the net on the right side of the ship, and shall find fish." They cast it therefore, and then they were not able to draw it up because of the multitude of the fishes.

Then saith that disciple, whom Jesus greatly loved, to Peter, "It is the LORD Jesus." Simon Peter therefore, on thus hearing that it was the LORD Jesus, girded around him his upper garment (for he was stripped) and cast himself into the sea, to wade to the shore.

But the OTHER disciples came in the small boat, (for they were not far from the land, but only at the distance of about two hundred bits) dragging the net full of fishes.

As soon therefore as they were come out upon the land, they see a fire of charcoal laid there, and small fish laid thereon, and bread also.

Jesus saith to them, Bring ye some of the small fish which ye have just now caught."

Simon Peter went up into the boat, and drew the net upon the land, full of GREAT fishes, in number a hundred and fifty-three: and though there were so many fishes the net was not broken.

Jesus saith to them, "Come ye hither, and take food." But none of the disciples dared to enquire of him, "Who ART thou?" though

they KNEW that it was the Lord Jesus.

Then cometh JESUS, and taketh up the bread, and giveth it to them, and he giveth to them some of the small fish likewise.

THIS was now already the third time that Jesus had shown himself to his own disciples collectively, since he was thus risen from among the dead.

When therefore they had taken food, Jesus saith to the Apostle Simon Peter, "Simon, thou son of Jonas, LOVEST thou me greatly, MORE than THESE my other disciples love me?" Peter saith to him, "Yea, Lord, thou KNOWEST that I love thee truly: Jesus saith to him, "FEED thou with spiritual food my young lambs of the gospel-flock.

Jesus saith to him again the second time, "Simon, thou son of Jonas, LOVEST thou me greatly?" Peter saith to him again, "Yea, Lord, thou KNOWEST that I love thee truly." Jesus saith to him, "Tend thou as a shepherd my spiri

tual SHEEP ALSO.”

Jesus saith to him at the THIRD time, "Simon, thou son of Jonas, LOVEST thou me truly, as thou sayest ?" Peter was GRIEVED because Jesus, using Peter's own words, said to him at the third time, "LOVEST thou me truly?" and Peter said to him, "Lord thou knowest all things per

fectly, therefore thou thyself knowest, that I love thee truly." Jesus saith to him, "FEED thou with spiritual food my SHEEP also."

" Verily, verily I say to thee, when thou wast young, thou girdedst THYSELF, and walkedst about whithersoever thou wouldest but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and ANOTHER man shall gird thee, and he shall bear thee away whither thou wouldest not."

Now THIS Jesus said, thus signifying by what kind of death, namely upon the cross, Peter should hereafter glorify God: And having spoken this, Jesus saith to Peter, "Follow thou ME."

And Peter turning himself about seeth John the disciple whom Jesus greatly loved, already following them, (which disciple also had leaned himself back at the paschal supper upon the breast of Jesus, and had said, "Lord, WHO is HE who will betray thee?")

Peter on seeing this disciple, saith to Jesus, "Lord, and what shall THIS man do?"

Then went forth this saying among the other brethren, namely, that THAT Disciple John should not DIE :' yet Jesus said not to him, that he should not DIE,' but he said, "If it be my will that he shall remain alive, till I am come hereafter, in my spiritual kingdom, what is that unto THEE ?"

This John is the same disciple who now testifieth of these things, and who hath moreover written them: and we know assuredly that his testimony is true.

And there are also many OTHER things which Jesus did, the which if they were written one by one, I do not think that the world, [or as the Prophet Amos saith, (vii. 10,) the surface of the earth,] itself could contain the books which might be written thereon.
