Now the shades of night are gone
Now to the Lord a noble song

[ocr errors]

Now to the Lord that makes us know
Now to the power of God supreme

O, blessed souls are they
O'bless the Lord, my soul.

come, let us sing to the Lord
O come, in life's gay morning
O, could I find, from day to day
O'er the gloomy hills of darkness
O for a breeze of heavenly love
Of all the joys we mortals know
O for a closer walk with God
O for a faith that will not shrink
O for a heart to praise my God.
O for an overcoming faith.

O for that tenderness of heart

Oft have our ears, great God, been taught.

Quench not the Spirit of the Lord

Rejoice, for Christ the Saviour reigns
Religion bids all sin depart
Religion is the chief concern.
Religion's dictates can assuage
Remark, my soul, the narrow bound
Remember thy Creator

Repent, the voice celestial cries
Return, O wanderer, now return
Return, O wandering soul, return

Revive thy churches, Lord, with grace
Rise, glorious Sun, supremely bright.
Rise, gracious God, and shine.
Rise, my soul, and stretch thy wings

Roll on, thou joyful day.

Roll on, thou mighty ocean
Rouse ye at the Saviour's call

Salvation is forever nigh
Salvation! O the joyful sound

Saviour, hear us, through thy merit
Saviour, visit thy plantation.
Saw ye not the cloud arise.
Say, sinner, hath a voice within
See, another year is gone

See how the fruitless fig-tree stands
See Israel's gentle Shepherd stand
Shine, mighty God, on Zion shine
Show pity, Lord, O Lord, forgive
Since we, and all our treasures too
Sing we to our God above
Sinner, art thou still secure
Sinner, O why so thoughtless grown
Sinner, rouse thee from thy sleep
Sinners are bending

Sinners, behold the Lamb of God
Sinners, exposed to dreadful woe
Sinners, hear the mighty Saviour
Sinners, hear the melting story
Sinners, the voice of God regard
Sinners, this solemn truth regard

There's not a star whose twinkling light
The Saviour calls, let every ear

The Saviour! O what endless charms
The seraphs bright are hovering
The time is short, the season near
The voice of Wisdom cries

Thine earthly Sabbaths, Lord, we love
This world is all a fleeting show.
This world 's not all a fleeting show
Though hard the winds are blowing
Thus far the Lord has led me on.
Thus was the great Redeemer plunged
Thy healing Spirit, Lord, impart.
Thy kingdom, Lord, I seek

'Tis by the faith of joys to come.

"Tis finished! so the Saviour cried
"Tis God, the Spirit, leads
"Tis my happiness below
"Tis religion that can give.
"T is the blest, the favored hour
"Tis time to seek the Lord
To Father, Son, and Holy Ghost
To God the Father, God the Son.
To God the Father's throne

To him who loved the souls of men
To-morrow, Lord, is thine
To thy temple I repair

To our Redeemer's glorious name
Wait, my soul, upon the Lord
We are but young, yet we may sing
We come, O God, with gladness.
We come, O Lord, before thy throne
Weep for the lost! thy Saviour wept
Weep not for the saint that ascends
Welcome, delightful morn.
Welcome, sweet day of rest
Welcome, welcome, quiet morning
We sing the mighty power of God
We've no abiding city here
We would see Jesus - does not he
What glory gilds the sacred page
What heavenly music do I hear
What is the thing of greatest price
What raptures fill the mind
What sinners value I resign

When blooming youth is snatched away
When God revealed his gracious name
When I can read my title clear
When I survey the wond'rous cross
When marshalled on the nightly plain
When, O my Saviour, shall this heart
When overwhelmed with grief.
