Gentlemen of the Faculty, Classmates, Ladies and Gentlemen: The circling flight of another twelve months has brought us again to the commencement, or graduating season of the honored institution with which many of us have been, for a greater or less length of time, in some wise associated. We stand again, as it may seem, where you gentlemen of the Faculty have often stood before, and where hundreds of the predecessors of those of us in the student department have paused for a moment and glanced backward over the path they have followed ere they moved out to take their responsible places in "The innumerable caravan that moves To the pale realms of shade." Class after class has reached a like point, paused, and pressed forward in the unbreaking march. To all alike, doubtless, have come more or less the same thoughts, the same inexpressible emotion. The same regret that opportunities have been more or less |
