Joseph the husband of
Mary, of whom was born
Jesus, who is called
Christ.

17. 17 So all the genera-
tions from Abraham to
David are fourteen gene-
rations; and from David
until the carrying away
into Babylon are fourteen
generations; and from the
carrying away into Baby-
lon unto Christ are four-
teen generations.
18. 18 Now the birth of
Jesus Christ was on this
wise: When as his mo-
ther Mary was espoused
to Joseph, before they
came together, she was
found with child of the
Holy Ghost.

19. 19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily. 20. 20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. 21. 21 ¶ And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save

by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.

17 And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.

18 And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him.

19 And when he had gone a little farther thence, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the ship mending their nets.

20 And straightway he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went after him.

21 And they went to Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he enter ed into the synagogue, and

children of Israel shall he turn to the Lord their God.

17 And he shall go before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.

have all we received, and grace for grace.

17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

18 And Zacharias said 18 No man hath seen unto the angel, Whereby God at any time; the only shall I know this? for I am begotten Son, which is in an old man, and my wife the bosom of the Father, well stricken in years. he hath declared him.

his people from their sins. 22. 22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,

23. 23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

24. 24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife :

25. 25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

taught.

22 And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority and not as the Scribes.

23 And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out,

24 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.

25 And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him.

26 And when the unclean

cried with a loud voice, he came out of him.

27 And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among them. selves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.

22 And when he came out, he could not speak unto them and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple: for he beckoned unto them, and remained speechless.

he answered, No.

22 Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?

23 He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilder

23 And it came to pass, that, as soon as the days of his ministration were ac-ness, Make straight the way complished, he departed to his own house.

24 And after those days his wife Elisabeth conceived, and hid herself five months, saying,

of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.

24 And they which were sent were of the Pharisees.

25 Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days wherein he looked on me, to take away my reproach among men.

26 ¶ And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,

27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.

25 And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?

26 John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;

27 He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose.

28 And immediately his fame spread abroad throughall the region round about Galilee.

28. 3 When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Je-out rusalem with him.

29. 4 And when he had gathered all the Chief Priests and Scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born. 30. 5 And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judæa for thus it is written by the prophet, 31. 6 And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel. 32. 7 Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared. 33. 8 And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also.

34. 9 When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came

29 And forthwith, when they were come out of the synagogue, they entered into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.

30 But Simon's wife's mother lay sick of a fever, and anon they tell him of her.

31 And he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them.

32 And at even, when the sun did set, they brought unto him all that were diseased, and them that were possessed with devils.

33 And all the city was gathered together at the door.

34 And he healed many that were sick of divers diseases, and cast out many devils; and suffered not the devils to speak, because
