UNITED STATES ENGINEER OFFICE, SIR: I have the honor to forward herewith annual report on works of river and harbor improvement in my charge for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1910. With an allotment of $30,000 from appropriation made by river and harbor act of March 3, 1909, 100,904 cubic yards of material, at $0.2874 per yard, was dredged in the channel through the outer bar under contract with the California Reclamation Company dated July 6, 1909. Work began November 29, 1909, and was completed January 17, 1910. A channel 200 feet wide and 29 to 30 feet deep was dredged through the bar. The river and harbor act of June 25, 1910, has appropriated $125,000 for deepening and widening the channel through the outer bar and the middle ground just within the harbor. |
