LIttle Children keep your felves from Idols; Amen. 1 John v.

21.

We have but little Occafion to keep ourselves from Idols of Wood and Stone: but how many are there in our Hearts, to which we are but too much devoted? Every Thing which we love more than God, is an Idol which we worship. Wherever we seek our Happinefs there is our God. Grant, O true God, that we may defire to be happy in Thee and of Thee alone.

Father of all we truft in Thee
Thy Children to secure,
From Sin to keep our Confcience free,
Our Hearts from Idols pure,
While in an evil World we live,

Left with our God we part,
And bafely to the Creature give
Our weak unfettled Heart.

In Pity to thy Children, blaft
Our felf-exulting Joy,
Thruft out our Images at laft,
And utterly deftroy:
Come, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost,

Our Nature to remove,
And Sin fhall be for ever loft

In Depths of pureft Love.

A ND the Spirit and the Bride fay, Come, and let him that heareth, fay, Come. And let him that is athirft, Come, and whofoever will, let him take theWater of Life freely. Rev. xxii. 17.

Lord, kindle in me this Defire, inflame my Heart with this Thirst. Caufe my Soul to speak this Word fincerely, and speak it thy felf to my Soul, Come: Lord I refign up my Will to Thee, that of captive, blind, corrupt, fick, fenflefs, and rebellious as it is, thou mayest make it a Will truly free, inlightened, upright, found, prudent, and obedient to all thy Operations. The Word received into the Heart kindles therein holy Defires; thefe Defires ftrengthened and confirmed become a full and perfect Will; and God fills this Will with the Water of eternal Life.

The Church, in her militant State,

Is
weary and cannot forbear,
The Saints in an Agony wait,
To fee him again in the Air,
The Spirit invites in the Bride

Her heavenly Lord to defcend,
And place her inthron'd at his Side,
In Glory that never shall end.

The News of his Coming I hear,
And join in the Catholic Cry,
O JESUS in triumph appear,

Appear on the Clouds of the Sky!
Whom only I languish to love,
With Fulness of Majefty come,
And give me a Manfion above,
And take to my heavenly Home.

HE which teftifieth thefe Things faith, Surely I come quickly.

Amen. Even fo, come, Lord Jefus. Rev. xxii. 20.

Jefus Chrift leaves us under the Hope and Expectation of his Coming. This is his laft Word delivered from Heaven, the lait Truth of the Gospel of his Glory, the laft Information which he gives to his beloved Difciple. That he will come, that he will come furely, that he will come quickly. Grant Lord, that this Word may fill my Heart, keep it always lifted up towards Thee, and be the Rule of all its Motions and of all its Defires. Form in it by thy Spirit this Amen of a faithful Adherence to all thy Words, of a perfect Dependance upon thy Will, of a true Submiffion to thy Difpenfations, of a fincere Reverence toward thy Designs, of an ardent Defire of thy Kingdom, of a continual Afpiration toward Thee, and of a perfect Confummation with thy Church in God.

Come King of Saints, fo long conceal'd,
In Majefty divine reveal'd,

With glorious Pomp and heav'nly Pow'r!
All Things unto thy felf fubdue,
Restore, create them all anew,

And reign when Time shall be no more.

THE Grace of our Lord Jefus Chrift be with you all, Amen.

Rev. xxii. 21.

Yes, Lord Jefus, come, and 'till thou comeft in thy Glory, vouchfafe to come, to live, to reign, to work in us by thy Almighty Grace, by the Perfection of thy Ways, by the Holinefs of thy Spirit. --- Come and fhew thy felf victorious in us, over all the hoftile Powers of Darkness, of the World, of the Flesh, and of Sin. Come by thy Spirit, for the Glory of thy Father, Amen.

JESUS, thou dear redeeming Lord!
The Kingdom of thy Peace reftor'd,
Let all thy Followers perceive,
And happy in thy Spirit live,
Retain the Grace with Thee beftow'd,
The Favour, and the Power of God.
Give all thy Saints to find in Thee
The Fulness of the Deity ;
His Nature, Life, and Mind to prove

In perfect Holiness and Love:
Fountain of Grace thyfelf make known,
With God and Man for ever one.
Still with and in thy People dwell,
Thy gracious Plenitude reveal,
Till coming with thy heavenly Train
We Eye to Eye behold the Man,
And thare thy Majefty divine,
And mount our Thrones incircling thine.

Let every Heart and every Hand
Vouchfafe our frozen Hearts to move, Join in the dear fraternal Band.
With Ardour ftrong thofe Breafts inflame Celestial Dove, defcend and bring
To all that own a Saviour's Name.
Still let the heav'nly Fire endure
Fervent and vig'rous, true and pure:

Day and Night they cry to Thee,
As Thou art fo let us be.

The smiling Bleffings on thy Wing;
And make us tafte thofe Sweets below,
Which in the blissful Mansions grow.

Gladly now I would be clean;
Cleanfe me now from ev'ry Sin.
