26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, fhall be likened unto a foolish man which built his house upon the fand:

27 And the rain defcended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell, and great was the fall of it.

28 And it came to pafs, when Jefus had ended these fayings, the people were aftonifhed at his doctrine:

29 For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

CHAP. XXV.

THE

HEN fhall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

2\And five of them were wife, and five were foolish.

3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:

4 But the wife took oil in their veffels with their lamps.

5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all flumbered and flept.

6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye

out to meet him.

7 Then all those virgins arofe, and trimmed their lamps.

8 And the foolish said unto the wife, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.

9 But the wife anfwered, faying, Not fo; left there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that fell, and buy for yourselves.

IO And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage; and the door was. fhut.

II Afterward came also the other virgins, faying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

12 But he answered and faid, Verily I fay unto you, I know you not.

13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

14 For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own fervants, and delivered unto them his goods.

15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his feveral ability; and straightway took his journey.

16 Then

16 Then he that had received the five talents, went and traded with the fame, and made them other five talents. 17 And likewife he that had received two, he also gained other two.

19 After a long time the lord of thofe fervants cometh, and reckoneth with them.

20 And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, faying, Lord, thou deliveredft unto me five talents: behold, I have gained befide them five talents more.

21 His lord faid unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful fervant: thou haft been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

22 He also that had received two talents came and faid, Lord, thou delivered unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other ta lents befide them :

25 And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou haft that is thine.

26 His lord answered and faid unto him, Thou wicked and flothful fervant, thou kneweft that I reap where I fowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:

27 Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I fhould have received mine own with ufury.

28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.

29 For unto every one that hath fhall be given, and he shall have abundance: bút from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.

23 His lord faid unto him, 30 And caft ye the unproWell done, good and faith-fitable fervant into outer ful fervant; thou haft been darkness: there fhall be faithful over a few things, I weeping and gnashing of will make thee ruler over teeth.

32 And before him fhall be gathered all nations and he fhall feparate them one from another, as a fhepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:

33 And he fhall fet the fheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

40 And the King shall anfwer and fay unto them, Verily I fay unto you, Inafmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

41 Then fhall he fay alfo unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye curfed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels :

42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:

34 Then fhall the King fay unto them on his right hand, Come, ye bleffed of my Father, inherit the king43 I was a ftranger, and dom prepared for you from ye took me not in: naked, the foundation of the world: and ye clothed me not: fick, 35 For I was an hungred, and in prison, and ye vifited and ye gave me meat: Ime not. was thirty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:

13 Verily I fay unto you, Wherefoever this gofpel fhall be preached in the whole world, there fhall alfo this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her.

9 For this ointment might have been fold for much, and given to the poor.

10 When Jefus understood it, he faid unto them, Why trouble ye the woman? for

16 And from that time he fought opportunity to betray him.

17¶Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the difciples came to Jefus, faying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the paffover?

18 And he faid, Go into the city to fuch a man, and fay unto him, The Master faith, My time is at hand: I will keep the paffover at thy house with my difciples.

23 And he answered and faid, He that dippeth his hand with me in the difh, the fame fhall betray me.

24 The Son of man goeth, as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born. 25 Then Judas, which betrayed him, anfwered and said, Master, is it I? He faid unto him, Thou haft faid.

32 But after I am rifen again, I will go before you into Galilee.

33 Peter anfwered and faid unto him, Though all men fhall be offended because of thee, yet will I never be offended.
