Association met pursuant to adjournment, and was called to order by President Webb.

The President appointed the following Committee on Credentials, viz. Drs. Malone, McNeil and Hammontree.

The hour having arrived for the election of officers, Dr. S. A. Rogers nominated Dr. W. S. Weissinger of Hernando, Miss., for President.

On motion, rules were suspended and Dr. Weissinger was elected by acclamation.

Dr. Wm. Krauss nominated Dr. S. A. Rogers for First VicePresident from Tennessee. Rules suspended, and elected by acclamation.

Dr. McNeil nominated Dr. R. H. Peel for Second VicePresident from Mississippi. Rules suspended, and elected by acclamation.

Dr. S. A. Rogers nominated Dr. R. C. Prewitt for Third Vice-President from Arkansas. Rules suspended, and elected by acclamation.

Dr. S. A. Rogers nominated Dr. A. L. Elcan for re-election as Secretary. Rules suspended, and Dr. Elcan was re-elected by acclamation, after asking permission to withdraw his name and declining to accept the nomination.

Dr. G. B. Malone nominated Dr. M. DePass for Assistant Secretary. Rules suspended, and Dr. DePass was elected by acclamation.

Dr. H. L. Williford nominated Dr. William Krauss for re-election as Treasurer. Rules suspended, and Dr. Krauss elected by acclamation.

On motion of Dr. A. L. Elcan, the resignation of Dr. J. M. Taylor was accepted.

Dr. Krauss read his report on Treasury, and asked that a committee be appointed to examine same. The President appointed on said committee Drs. H. L. Williford, S. A. Rogers and M. De Pass, who, after examination, reported same correct and recommended it for adoption. Carried.

Committee on Credentials made favorable report on the application of the following gentlemen, and they were elected members, viz.: Drs. G. G. Buford, A. W. Rudisill, M. DePass, A. J. Borroum.

Dr. G. B. Malone read paper on Caries of Tibia. Discussed by Drs. J. I. Taylor and J. C. Hall, and referred.

On call for voluntary contributions, Dr. G. G. Buford read a paper on Malarial Hematuria. Discussed by Drs. Malone, Hammontree, Heber Jones, Black, R. C. Prewitt, Shearin, Rawlings, Krauss and Wilkins, and referred.

Committee on Credentials made favorable report on the application of the following gentlemen, and they were elected members, viz.: Drs. S. A. Southall, A. J. Jagoe, H. Posert, Jno. L. Jelks and E. E. Haynes.

After considerable discussion as to what disposal should be made of the papers read before the association, Dr. G. B. Malone moved that the authors be permitted to have their papers printed whenever they saw proper. Carried.

Committee on Credentials made favorable report on the following applicants for membership, and they were elected, viz. Drs. Louise Druillard, J. M. Wells, A. S. Johnson and J. B. Ewart.

Dr. A. B. Holder not being present, Dr. Jno. I. Taylor read a paper, "Use of Galvano-Cautery as a Therapeutic Agent." Discussed by Dr. Gillespie and referred.

Dr. A. B. Holder presented a patient with aueurism of neck. Discussed by Drs. S. A. Rogers, Dunn, Witherington, Rudisill, Krauss and Malone.

Committee on Credentials reported favorably on the following application for membership, and he was elected a member, viz.: Dr. H. X. Richardson.

On motion of Dr. S. A. Rogers the members of A. A. W. Society were invited to attend the sessions of the association. The President appointed committee consisting of Drs. S. A. Rogers, McNeil and Powell to notify the A. A. W. Society. On call for voluntary contributions, Dr. Duke read a paper, "Walking Typhoid Fever-So-called." Discussed by Drs. Malone, S. A. Rogers, Witherington, Krauss, Wells, Hammontree, Peel and Gillespie.

Dr. A. G. Sinclair read a paper, "Large Foreign Body in Eyeball for Three Years-Extraction." Discussed by Dr. Duke and referred.

Dr. E. A. Neely read a paper, "Two Cases of Hernia." Discussed by Dr. L. L. Williams.

Dr. Heber Jones moved an amendment to the Constitution and By-Laws, fixing time for election of officers. Motion under Constitution will lay over until next annual meeting. Moved by Dr. H. A. Young that the thanks of this association be tendered the city press, the railroads, Y. M. C. A., and the people of Memphis for courtesies shown.

Buffalo Lithia Water in the Treatment of Renal Calculi.

Dr. Albert Goodwin, of Eufaula, Ala., states that for a number of years he has prescribed Buffalo lithia water, with uniformly efficacious results,in gout, rheumatic gout, rheumatism, and all diseases of a uric-acid diathesis, and its extraordinary therapeutic value prompts him to report the following cases of renal calculi dependent upon a uric-acid diathesis relieved by its use after the failure of other approved treatment:

J. N. L., a cotton merchant, between forty-five and fifty years of age, was subject for six or seven years to frequent attacks of nephritic colic, and almost invariably passed a calculus after each paroxysm. The paroxysms finally became so frequent that the colic was almost constantly present, rendering his existence miserable. Of necessity, resort was had to opium
