The tabernacle is reared up. LEVITICUS

A chad covereth if.

the tabernacle, and put the covering of the tent above upon it: as the Lord commanded Moses.

Io And he took and put the testimony into the ark, and set the staves on the ark, and put the mercy feat above upon the ark:

»i And he brought the ark into the tabernacle, and set up the vail of the covering, and covered the ark of the te(ti« mony; as the Lo R D commanded Moses.

is And he put the table in the tent of the congregation, upon the side of the tabernacle northward, without the vail.

23 And he let the bread in order upon it before the Lord; Us the Loud had commanded Moles.

24. And he put the candlestick in the tent of the congregation, over against the table, on the side of the tabernacle southward.

2 5 And he lighted the lamps before the Lo R D , as the Lo R D commanded Moses.

26 And he put the golden altar in the tent of the congregation,before thevail:

27 And he burnt sweet incense thereon; as the Lord commanded Moses.

28 And he set up the hanging at the door of the tabernacle.

29 And he put the altar of burnt offering by the door of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation, and offered upon it the burnt offering, and the

meat offering; as the Lord comman< ed Moses.

31 And Moses and Aaron and his ibi washed their hands and their feet therea

32 When they went into the tent the congregation, and when they can near unto the altar, they ■washed} as tl Lord commanded Moses.

33 And he reared up the court rour about the tabernacle and the altar, ar set up the hinging of the court gat So Moses finished the work.

34. Then a cloud covered the tent < the congregation, and the glory of tf: Lord silled the tabernacle.

35 And Moses was not able to entc into the tent of the congregation, be cause the cloud abode thereon, and tli glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle

36 And when the cloud was taken 11 from over the tabernacle, the child re of Israel went onward in all their jour neys:

37 But if the cloud were not take up, then they journeyed not, till the da that it was taken up.

CHAP. I.

1 The burnt offerings, 3 of the herd, 10 of the flocks, 1+of the fowls.

AND the Lor D called unto Moses, and spake unto him out of the tabernacle of the congregation, saying,

a Speak unto the children of Israel, »nd say unto them, Is any man of you bring an oft'eringunto the Lord, ye shall bring your offering of the cattle, even of the herd, and of the flock.

3 ^ If his offering be a burnt sacrifice of the herd, let him otter a male without blemish: he (hall offer it of his own voluntary will, at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the Lord.

4 And he shall put his hand upon the head of the burnt ottering: and it shall be accepted for him to make atonement for him.

5 And he mall kill the bullock before the Lo R D: and the priests, Aaron's sons, shall bring the blood, and sprinkle the blood round about upon the altar tlut

6 And he shall flay the burnt offering; and cut it into his pieces.

7 And the sons of Aaron the prietl shall put fire upon the altar, and lay the wood in order upon the fire:

8 And the priests, Aaron's sons, shall lay the parts, the head, and the fat, ii order upon the wood that is on the fire which is upon the altar:

9 But his inwards and his legs shall he warn in water: and the priest shall burn all on the altar, to be a burnt sacrifice, an offering made.by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord.

10 ^f And if his offering be of the flocks, namely, of the sheep, or of the goats, for a burnt sacrifice; he shall bring it a male without blemish.

11 And he shall kill it on the side of the altar north waid before the Lord: and the priests, Aaron's sons, shall sprinkle his blood round about upon the altar:

12 And ha shall cut it into his pieces, Tkt harms eferiseg.

The meat offering.

AND when any will offer a meat offering unto the Lord, his offerisg Shall be of fine Hour; and he (hall paur oil upon it, and put frankincense thereon;

1 And he (hall bring it to Aaron's sons the priests: and he (hall take thereout his handful of the Dour thereof, and of toe oil thereof, with all the frankincense thereof; and the priest (hall burn the nemorial of it upon the altar, to be an oEering made by sire, of a sweet savour onto the Lord:

; And the remnant of the meat offerin?/fotf be Aaron's and his Ions : it isa thing most holy of the offerings of the Lord made by fire.

4 And if thou bring an oblation of a meat offering baken in the overi, it /hall be unleavened cakes of fine flour mingled with oil, or unleavened wafers anointed with oil.

5 And if thy oblation be a meat offering baken in a pan, it (hall b« of fine l<wr unleavened, mingled with oil.

6 Thou (halt part it in pieces, and poar oil thereon-, it is a meat offering.

7 And if thy oblation be a meat offeriag baken in the fryingpan, it (hall be cade if ans flour with. oil.

J And thou (halt bring the meat offering that is made of these things unto the Lor D: and when it is pi dented unto the priest, he (hall bring it unto the altar.

9 And the priest (hall take from the meat offering a memorial thereof, and (hall burn /'/ upon the altar: /'/ is an offering made by (ire, of a sweet savour unto the Lo R D .

10 And that which is left of the me^t offering yW/ be Aaron's and his sons': it is a thing moll holy of the offerings of the Lord made by lire.

11 No meatoffering, which ye shall bring unto the Lo n. n, lhall be made with, leaven: for ye lhall burn no leaven, nor any honey, in 3ny offering of the Lo R a made by fire.

ix (([ As for the oblation of tlie firstfruits, ye lhall offer them unto the Lor D: but they lhall not be burnt on the altar for a sweet savour.

13 ^1 And every oblation of thy meat offering (halt thou season with salt; neither (halt thou suffer the salt of the covenant of thy God to be iacking from • thy meat offering: with all thine offerings thou (halt offer salt.

i+ And if thou offer a meat offering of thy firstfruits unto the Lord, thou (halt offer for the meat offering of thy firstfruits green ears of corn driwi by the first, even corn beaten out of full tars.

15 And thou (halt put oil upon it, and lay frankincense thereon: it is a meat offering.

16 And the priest (hall burn the memorial of it, part of the beaten corn thereof, and part of the oil thereof, with all the frankincense thereof: it is an offering made by fire unto the Lord.

CHAP. III.

1 The peace offering of the herd, 6 of the

fiock; 7 either a lamb, 12 or a goat.

AN D if his oblation be a sacrifice of peace offering, if he offer it os the herd; whether /'/ be a male or female, lie shall offer it without blemish before the Lord.

2 And he (hall lay his hand upon the head of his offering, and kill it at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: and Aaron's sons the priests (hall sprinkle the blood upon the altar round about.

5 And Aaron's sons mall burn it on the altar upon the burnt sacrifice, which is upon the wood that is on the fire: it is an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord.

6 ff And if his ottering for a sacrifice of peace offering unto the Lor D be of the flock, male or female, he shall offer it without blemish.

7 % If he offer a lamb for his offering, then (hall he offer it before the Lord.

8 And he shall lay his hand upon the head of his offering, and kill it before the tabernacle of the congregation: and Aaron's sons shall sprinkle the blood thereof round about upon the altar.

9 And he shall offer of the sacrifice of the peace offering an ottering made by fire unto the Lor D ■. the fat thereof, and the whole rump, it shall he take off hard by the backbone; and the fat that covereth the inwards, and ail the fat that is upon the inwards,

io And the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, which is by the flanks, and the caul above the liver, with the kidneys, it shall he take away.

Ii And the priest shall burn it upon the altar: it is the food of the offering made by fire unto the Lord.

I j And he (hall lav his hand upon the head of it, and kill it before the tabernacle of the congregation: and the ions of Aaron ihall sprinkle the blood thereof upon the altar round about.

14 And he shall offer thereof his offering, even an offering m*de by fire unto the Lo R D; the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards,

15 And the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, which is by the flanks, and the caul above the liver, with the kidneys, it shall he take away.

i£ And the priest shall burn them upon the altar: tt is the food of the offering made by fire, for a sweet savour: all the fat is the Lord's.

17 It/hall be a perpetual statute for your generations throughout all your dwellings, that ye eat neither fat nor blood.

CHAP. IV. 1 The fin offering of ignorance, 3 for the

priest, si for the congregation, tt/or

the ruler, 17 for any of the people.

AN D the Lord spake unto Moses, laying,

» Sgeak unto the children of Ifrat saying, Isa soul lhall sin through ign< ranee against any of the cominandmen of the Lo R D concerning things whic ought not to be done, and shall t against any of them:

3 t\ If the priest that is anointed do fi according to*the sin of the people; the let him bring for his sin which he hat sinned, a young bullock without blemif unto the Lord for a sin offering.

4 And he shall bring the bullock unt the door of the tabernacle of the congre gation before the Lord, and shall lai his hand upon the bullock's head, ani kill the bullock before the Lord.

5 And the priest that is anointed slial take of the bullock's blood, and bring i to the tabernacle of the congregation .

6 And the priest shall dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle of the blood seven times before the Lor D, before the vail of the sanctuary.

7 And the priest shall put some of the blood upon the horns of the altar of sweet incense before the Lo R D, which is in the tabernacle of the congregation; and (hall pour all the blood of the bullock at the bottom of the altar of the burnt offering, which is at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

8 And he shall take off from it -ill the fat of the bullock for the sin offering; the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards,

9 And the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, which is by the flank?, and the caul above the liver, with the kidneys, it shall he take away,

10 As it was taken off from the bullock of the sacrifice of peace offerings: and the priest shall burn them upon the altar of the burnt ottering.

11 And the skin of the bullock, and all his flesh, with his head, and with his legs, and his inwards, and his dung,

n Even the whole bullock shall he cany .forth without the camp, unto a clean place, where the ashes are poured out, and burn him on the wood with fi^e: where the allies are poured out (hall he be burnt.

13 ^ And if the whole congregation of Israel sin through ignorance, and the thing be hid from the eyes of the alfembly, and they have doaefonwwhat agtdnfi any of the commandments ofthe Lo R r>, concerning things which should not be done, and are guilty;

14 When the sin which they have finned against it is known, then the congregation shall offer a young bullock for tifin, and bring him before the tabersie of tie congregation. :; And the elders of the congregation faB by their hands upon the hearl of 2e bolkck before the Lo a. come to his knowledge: then he (hall bring his offering, a kid of the goats, a female without blemish, for his sin which he hath (inned.

19 And he (hall lay his hand upon" the head of the sin offering, and Cay the sin offering in the place of the burnt offering.

30 And the priest (hall take of the blood thereof with his finger, and put;/ upon the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and (hall pour out all the blood thereof at the bottom of the altar.

31 And he (hall take away all the fat thereof, as the fat is taken away from off the sacrifice of peace offerings; and the priest (hall burn it upon the altar for a sweet savour unto the Lord: and the priest (hall make an atonement for him, and it (hall be forgiven him.'

31 And if he bring a lamb for a fin offering, he (hall bring it a female without blemish.

33 And he (hall lay his hand upon the head of the fin offering, and slay it for a fin offering, in the place where they kill the burnt offering.

3+ And the priest (hall take of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, and put it upon the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and (hall pour out all the blood thereof at the bottom of the altar: 35 And he mall take away all the fat thereof, as the fat of the lamb is taken away from the sacrifice of the peace offerings: and the priest (hall burn them upon the altar; according to the offerings made by fire unto the Lor D: and the priest (hall make an atonement for his sin that he hath committed, and it sllall be forgiven him.

C H A P. V. 1 Of him that concealeth his knowledge in touching of an unclean tiling, 4- or in making an oath. 14 The trespass offering in sacrilege, 17 and in sins of ignorance.

AND if a soul sin, and hear the voice of swearing, and is a witness, whether he hath seen or known of its if he do not utter it, then he (hall bear his iniquity.

a Or if afoul touch any unclean thing, whether it be a carcase of an unclean beast, or a carcase of unclean cattle, or the carcase of unclean creeping tilings and if it be hidden from him; he also (hall be unclean, and guilty.

3 Or if he touch the uncleanness of man, whatsoever uncleanness it be that a man (hall be defiled withal, and it he hid from him; when he kneweth of it, then he (hall be guilty.

4 ^ Or if a soul swear, pronouncing with his lips to do evil, or to do good, whatsoever it be that a man (hall pronounce with an oath, and it be hid from him; when he knoweth of it, then he (hall be guilty in one of these.

5 And it shall be, when he shall be guilty in one of these things, that he shall confess that he hath sinned in that thing:

6 And he shall bring his trespass offering unto the Lor D for his fin which he hath sinned, a female from the flock, a lamb or a kid of the goats, for a sin offering: and the priest (hall make an atonement for him concerning his sin.

7 And if he be not able to bring a lamb, then he shall bring for his trespass which he hath committed, two turtledoves, or two young pigeons, unto the Lor D: one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering.

8 And he shall bring them unto the priest, who mall offer that which is for the sin offering first, and wring off his head from his neck, but shall not divide it asunder:

9 And he fliall sprinkle os the blood of the sin offering upon the side of the altar; and the rest of the blood shall be wrung out at the bottom of the altar: it is a sin offering.

jo And he (hall offer the second for a burnt offering, according to the manner: and the priest (hall make an atonement for him for his sin which he hath sinned, and it (hall be forgiven him.

11 But if he be not able to bring two turtledoves, or two young pigeons; then he that sinned (hall bring for his offering the tenth part of an ephah of fine flour for a sin offering: h« mail put no oil upon it, neither shall he put a/iy frankincense thereon: for it is a fro offering.

ii Then (hall he bring it to the priest, and the priest shall take his handful of it, even a memorial thereof, and burn it on the altar, according to the offerings made by fire unto the Lo x D: it u A sin offering.

i 3 And the priest (hall make an atoncntent for him as touching his sin that he hath sinned in one of these, and it (hall be forgiven him: and the remnant (hall be the priest's, as a meat offering.

19 It is a trespass offering: he hai certainly trespassed against tne Lor. D

CHAP. VI. 1 The trespass offering for fins done tvr singly, x^the offering at the confeert tion of a priest.

AND the Lord spake unto Mose saying,

2 If a soul sin, and commit a trespa against the Lord, and lie unto h neighbour in that which was delivere him to keep, or in fellowship, or in thing taken away by violence, ov hat deceived his neighbour;

3 Or have found that which was Io(i and Heth concerning it, and swearer falsely; in any of all these that a mai doeth, sinning therein:

+ Then it fliall be, because he hatl sinned and is guilty, that he (hall restor that which he took violently away, o the thing which he hath deceitfully got ten, or that which was delivered him ti keep, or the lost tiling which he found

5 Or all that about which he hatl sworn falsely; he fliall even restore it ir the principal, and (hall add the fifth par more thereto, and give it unto him t« whom it appertaineth, in the day 01 his trespass offering.

6 And he fliall bring his trespass of. string unto the Lord, a ram without blemish out of the flock, with thy esti. mation, for a trespass offering, unto the priest:

7 And the priest fliall make an atonement for him before the Lord: and it fliall be forgiven him, for any thingof all that he hath done, in trespassing therein.
