that is taught in the word, communicate to him that teacheth in all good things. Be not deceived: God is not mocked: For whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh, shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit, shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well-doing; for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have, therefore, opportunity; let us do good unto all men, especially to those who are of the household of faith.

THE SIXTEENTH SUNDAY AFTER TRINITY"

The Gospel. Luke vii. 11-17

ND it came to pass the day after, that He went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with HIM, and much people. Now, when He came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city were with her. And when the Lord saw her, HE had compassion on her, and said unto her, WEEP NOT. And He came and touched the bier, and they that bare him stood still. And He said: "Young man, I say unto thee, arise.' was dead sat up, and began to speak. livered him to his mother. And there came a fear on all and they glorified God, saying: That a great prophet is risen upamong us; and that God hath visited his people. And this rumour of him went throughout all Judea, and throughout all the region round about.

The Epistle. Ephes. iii. 13-21.

HEREFORE I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory. For this cause, I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might, by his Spirit, in the inner man; that ye being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend, with all saints, what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge; that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, unto him be glory in the church, by Christ Jesus, throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

The Gospel. Luke xiv. 111.

ND it came to pass, as He went into the house of one of the chief pharisees to eat bread, on the sabbath day, that they watched him. And behold, there was a certain man before him which had the dropsy. And Jesus answering, spake unto the. lawyers and pharisees, saying: "Is it lawful to heal on the sabhath-day?" And they held their peace. And He took him, and healed him, and let him go; and he answered them, saying: "Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not straightway pull him out on the sabbath-day?" And they could not answer him again to these things. And he put forth a parable to those which were bidden, when he marked how they chose out the chief rooms; saying unto them: "When thou, art bid

den of any man to a wedding, sit not down in the highest room, lest a more honourable man than thou, be bidden of him; and he that bade thee, and him, come and say to thee, Give this man place: and thou begin with shame to take the lowest room. But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; and when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that set at meat with thee. For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted."

The Epistle. Ephes. iv. 16.

Therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you, that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, with all lowliness and meekness, with long-suffering, forbearing one another in love; endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit, in the bond of peace. There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and inyou all.

The Gospel. Mat. xxii. 34-46.

UT when the Pharisees had heard that He had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together. Then one of them which was a lawyer, asked HIм a question, tempting HIM, and say ng: "Master, which is the great commandment in the law?" Jesus said unto him: Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and

great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Tvou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments, hang all the law and the prophets." While the pharisees were gathered together, Jesus asked them, saying: "What think yo of Christ? whose son is he?" They say unto him, "The son of David." HE saith unto them: "How then doth David in spirit call him Lord, saying: Tve Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? If David then call him Lord, how is HE his son?" And no man was able to answer him a word; neither durst .any man, from that day forth, ask him any more questions.

Christ; that in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge; even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: so that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ; who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord:

ND HE entered into a ship, and passed over and came into his own city. And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed and Jesus, seeing their faith, said unto the sick of the palsy: Son, be of good cheer; thy

sins be forgiven thee. And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves: This man blasphe▪ meth. And Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said: "Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts? for whether is easier to say, thy sins be forgiven thee: or to say, arise and walk? but that ye may know, the son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house." And he arose, and departed to his house. But when the multitudes saw it they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.

UT ye off, concerning the former conversa tion, the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; and be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and put ye on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Wherefore, putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. Be ye angry and sin not let not the sun go down upon your wrath; neither give place to the devil. Let him that stole, steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.

THE TWENTIETH SUNDAY AFTER TRINITY.

The Gospel. Matt. xxii. 1- -14. A ND Jesus answered, and spake unto them by parables, and said: "The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son, and sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding and they would

not come.

Again he sent forth the other servants,
