Resolved, That the classification of positions in the exempt class in the office of the comptroller be amended by striking therefrom the words, "ten transfer tax appraisers," and by inserting in lieu thereof the words, "nineteen transfer tax appraisers," for the reasons stated in a communication from Comptroller Miller under date of December 31, 1901.

Resolved, That the classification of positions in the exempt class n the office of the district attorney of New York county be amended as follows:

By striking out the words "twenty-five county detective officers," and inserting in lieu thereof the words "thirty county detective officers."

By striking out the words "seventeen deputy assistant district attorneys," and inserting in lieu thereof the words "twenty deputy assistant district attorneys."

By adding thereto the following words: "One private secretary, one librarian."

Resolved, That the classification of positions in the exempt class in the office of the county clerk of Kings county, be amended by adding thereto the following: "one equity clerk in charge of equity department; one docket clerk in charge of docket department; one index clerk in charge of indexing department; one document searcher in charge of searching department; " for the the reasons stated in the brief of the counsel for the county clerk, dated February 6, 1902.

Department of excise

Resolved, That the classification of positions in the exempt class in the department of excise be amended by striking from

the paragraph relating to the position of watchman the figures "1901" and inserting in place thereof "1902," so that the paragraph will read as follows:

"One watchman in the New York office of the department employed for a period of thirty days beginning April 10, 1902, and ending May 9, 1902."
