PROCEEDINGS OF THE FORTY-SIXTH SESSION (FORTY-NINTH ANNIVERSARY), OF THE American Institute of Homeopathy, HELD AT CHICAGO, ILL. MAY 29 TO JUNE 3, 1893. INTRODUCTORY NOTE. THE American Institute of Homœopathy, at the session of 1892, received formal and official notice of the intention to hold a "World's Congress of Homoeopathic Physicians and Surgeons " in the City of Chicago, Ill., under the auspices of "The World's Congress Auxiliary," an organization established by the authorities of the Columbian Exposition for the purpose of convening representatives of various arts, sciences, professions and other interests, and of persons engaged in various enterprises for the amelioration of the condition of the human race. The object of these Congresses was to be the consideration of questions and subjects pertaining to those different interests by persons learned and skilled therein from all parts of the world. Upon receipt of the above-mentioned announcement, the Institute voted to omit the reception of its usual reports and papers on scientific subjects, to limit its proceedings for the session of 1893 to routine and other necessary business, and to enlist and devote the energies and influence of the organization to promote the success of the Congress. The above statement will explain the fact that the TRANSACTIONS of the Institute for this year and volume, contain no scientific addresses, papers or discussions. FIRST DAY'S SESSION.
