DISTRICT OF MASSACHUSETTS, to wit:
District Clerk's Office. BE I'T REMEMBERED, that on the twentieth day of January, A. D 1823, in the forty-seventh year uf the Independence of the United States of America, Wells and Lilly of the seid District, have deposited in this Office the Title of a Book, the Right whereof they claim as Proprietors in the Words following, to wit :
The Life of James Otis. of Massachusetts ; Containing also, Notices of some Contemporary Characters and Events from the year 1760 to 1775. By William Tudor.
In Conformity to the Act of the Congress of the United States, entitled " An Act for the encouragement of Learning, by securing ibe Copies of Maps, Charts, and Books, to he Authors and Proprietors of such Copies, during the Times therip mentioned :" and also to an Aci entitled, “ An Act supplementary to an Act. entitled, An Act for the encouragement of Learning by securing the Copies of Maps, Charts, and Books, to the Authors and Proprietors of such Copies during the times there in mentioned ; and extending the Benetits thereof to the Arts of Designing, Engraving, and Etching Historical and other Prints."
