and foolish thoughts; our idle and unpre fitable words; our unkind and hasty tem. pers; our wasted time, and misused talents. Lord, Thou hast set our iniquities before Thee, our secret sins in the light of Thy countenance. Yet do Thou of Thine infinite mercy pardon us for Christ's sake; blot out all our transgressions; cleanse and heal our souls; and graciously receive us as Thy forgiven and accepted children.

We pray Thee, O heavenly Father, to plant Thy fear and Thy love in all our hearts. Teach us to remember that Thou art ever near us; and draw us closer to Thyself. Make us consistent followers of our blessed Lord and Master.

Give us a

spirit of watchfulness and prayer. us gentle, lowly, and forbearing.

O God the Holy Spirit, fix Thy dwelling-place in our hearts; make us Thy living temples. Suffer us not to grieve Thee; withhold not Thy heavenly light and comfort from us seal us unto the day of redemption. Thou art the Source and Giver

of holy peace and joy. O reveal the love of Christ our Saviour more and more clearly to us, and cause us to rejoice in Him. Make us to feel that in Him alone is all our righteousness and strength.

We humbly beseech Thee, most gracious God, to bless this our family. May each member of it be a member of the true family of Christ. May our daily prayers and praises be accepted of Thee; and may all, who are now met around Thy mercyseat, meet hereafter around Thy throne above.

We would entreat Thy blessing on behalf of all whom we love. If any of them are still far from Thee, do Thou in Thy great mercy change their hearts, and fetch them home to Thy fold.

Look favourably upon our land. Prosper us as a nation. Let true religion flourish amongst us. Let Thy Word have free course, and be glorified in the midst of us. And from us may the Gospel go forth into other lands, so that all the ends of the

earth may acknowledge that Jesus is their Lord and Saviour.

Accept, O God, these our imperfect supplications, and do for us far above our desires and our deservings. Guide us evermore with Thy counsel, and afterwards receive us to Thy glory, for the sake of Jesus Christ our Redeemer. Amen.

Our Father, which art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kirgdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day [or, day by day] our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil for Thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

The blessing of God Almighty, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, be amongst us, and remain with us always. Amen.

Auesday Morning.

LMIGHTY and everlasting God, Thou hast in Thy great mercy spared us once more to approach Thy throne of grace. Give us now, we pray Thee, humble and believing hearts, and enable us to worship Thee in spirit and in truth.

Thou hast promised, O Lord, that whatever we ask in the name of Thy blessed Son, believing, we shall receive. Hear us, for His sake, whilst we call upon Thee; and let the words of our mouths, and the meditations of our hearts, be acceptable in Thy sight.

O God, we do not deserve any blessing at Thy hands. Our hearts are deceitful and our best actions are mixed with sin. We have much to hinder us on our way

to heaven. Give us the victory over all

our enemies.

Set us free from all that ensnares us, and grant that we may run the way of Thy commandments with increased earnestness.

O God, so teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. Give us a right judgment in all things. Help us to examine ourselves closely; and strengthen us to correct whatever we ourselves feel to be wrong in our daily life. We would cast our burden of sin upon Thou hast suffered much for us; Thou knowest our infirmities; Thou rememberest that we are but sinful dust and ashes. We are vile, and weak, and wandering; do Thou, Lord, cleanse us, strengthen us, keep us near Thee, fix our hearts upon Thee, and prepare us to live with Thee for ever. May all of us now kneeling before Thee be found at Thy glorious appearing, washed in Thy precious blood, clothed in the robe of Thy perfect righteousness,

Thee, O gracious Saviour.
