Fuesday Evening.

draw near to Thee this evening in the name of Jesus Christ, our Redeemer. We bless and praise Thee that through Him Thou hast opened a way by which we may approach Thee with acceptance. Assist us to offer up heartily this our evening sacrifice of prayer and praise.

We bless Thee that we have been kept this day in safety by Thy watchful care. Thanks be unto Thee for the supply of our bodily wants, and our preservation from danger. O God, suffer us not to think little of our daily blessings, because they are continually renewed to us, and because others share them with us. Make us ever mindful of our own un

worthiness, that we may be more truly thankful for all Thy loving-kindness and tender mercy; and do Thou enable us to show our thankfulness by daily endeavouring to please and honour Thee.

O Thou who art the God of grace, as well as the God of providence, as Thou hast supplied our temporal wants, supply also our spiritual necessities. We thank Thee for Thine unspeakable gift, the gift of Thine own dear Son. By Thy Holy Spirit convince us of our sinfulness; and thus make us to see our need of a Saviour. Make us to feel that we are spiritually diseased, so that we may hasten to the great Physician of souls.

Implant in us, O Lord, a true and lively faith in Christ. May our whole trust be in Him, and all our hopes drawn from Him. May His name be precious to us, and His service delightful. May we love His voice, and meekly follow Him.

Lord, Thou knowest our foolishness, and our faults are not hid from Thee. O pity our weakness, and strengthen us with might by Thy Spirit in the inner man. Have compassion on our ignorance, and give us heavenly wisdom. Of Thy great mercy pardon our many sins and shortcomings, and incline us to walk more humbly and more diligently in Thy ways.

Whatever holy purposes Thy Spirit may awaken in our hearts, enable us to carry them into practice. We acknowledge that we are often dull and cold, and disposed to wander from Thee. O Thou, who camest that we might have life, and have it more abundantly, give new life and warmth to our souls.

And now that we are about once more to lie down to sleep, O Lord, graciously watch over us, and protect us. our frail bodies from harm, and keep our minds in peace. Raise up, O Lord, our hearts and hopes to Thyself; scatter every anxious thought that disturbs us; and

keep us simply trusting in Thee, for the sake of Jesus Christ our Saviour. Amen.

Our Father, which art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaGive us this day [or, day by day] our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil Thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Ghost, be with us all overAmen.

Wednesday Morning

LORD GOD of our salvation, gra

ciously hear and answer the prayers which we would now offer up to Thee, in the name of Jesus Christ our Saviour.

We are once more met together, to bless Thee as a family for Thy fatherly care over us, and Thy bounty towards us. We thank Thee for the mercies of the past night, and for the life and strength which Thou hast renewed to us with the light of another day.

And now we know not, O Lord, what this day may bring forth; but we humbly ask Thee to fit us for its duties, to support us under its trials, and, with every temptation which it may bring, to nake for us a way to escape. Give us
