GREETING.

Upon entering our fifth year of the publication of The Medical Dial we desire to thank our friends, patrons and contributors for past favors and courtesies, and wish all a happy and prosperous NEW YEAR.

The Medical Dial appears in its new dress with better quality of paper, and during the present year we hope to enlarge and improve it very materially. Dr. E. H. McIntyre assumes the position of assistant editor, and Wm. R. Dobbyn & Sons take charge of the printing and publishing.

Having been associated with the Medical Dial from its inception in 1898, in the capacity of manager, and having come into personal contact with

the personnel of nearly all the pharmaceutical houses which have remained the staunch supporters of this publication, at their respective headquarters, and, also, having met with such paramount courtesy at the hands of advertisers and subscribers alike, it is with much regret in many ways that the undersigned leaves the refreshing precincts of medical ethics to devote his entire attention to Metal Miner, a journal of mining which he launched two years ago and has been conducting. monthly since.

To his superiors, the Drs. J. W. Macdonald and C. K. Bartlett, and the many other distinguished physicians who have lent a charm to the details of publication by their cordial greetings during the past four years, a parting word of good cheer is most heartily accorded by
