For clerks in offices of surveyors-general, the gross appropriation is increased from $121,150 for 1906, to $134,575 for 1907—an increase of $13,425

POST-OFFICE DEPARTMENT.

A rearrangement and transfer of certain divisions of the several offices of the Post-Office Department for the fiscal year 1907 is made, in accordance with the estimates submitted to Congress and recommendations made by the Postmaster-General, the net result of which, as to the number of employments in the entire Department as compared with the fiscal year 1906, is as follows, namely:

BUREAU OF IMMIGRATION AND NATURALIZATION.

The designation of the Bureau of Immigration in the Department
of Commerce and Labor is changed to the "Bureau of Immigra-
tion and Naturalization" (act, June 29, 1906, p. 674)..
The Secretary of Commerce and Labor shall provide the Bureau
with such additional furnished offices within the city of Wash-
ington, such books of record and facilities, and such additional
assistants, clerks, stenographers, typewriters, and other employees
as may be necessary for the proper discharge of the duties
imposed by law upon such Bureau, fixing the compensation of
such additional employees until July 1, 1907, within the appropria-
tions made for that purpose (act, June 29, 1906, sec. 2, p. 675) ..
