HIGHWAY BRIDGE.

For salaries of employees, lighting, power, and miscellaneous supplies, and expenses of every kind necessarily incident to the operation and maintenance of the bridge and approaches, there is appropriated for the fiscal year 1907 the sum of $11,600; and estimates in detail are required to be submitted hereunder for the fiscal year 1908 and annually thereafter...

SEWERS.

For the employment of mechanics, laborers, and watchmen, and the purchase of coal, oils, waste, and other supplies, there is appropriated for the fiscal year 1907 the sum of $37,295; and estimates in detail are required to be submitted hereunder for the fiscal year 1908 and annually thereafter....

CONDEMNATION OF INSANITARY BUILDINGS.

For personal services incident to the enforcement of the act to create a board for the condemnation of insanitary buildings in the District of Columbia, approved May 1, 1906, there is authorized to be used out of the appropriation for expenses under said act for 1907 the sum of $1,200-an increase of $1,200...

Under the provisions of the "Act to fix and regulate the salaries of teachers, school officers, and other employees of the Board of Education of the District of Columbia,” approved June 20, 1906 (pp. 512 to 517, inclusive), the following shows the number and compensation of persons appropriated for, for the fiscal year 1907, compared with the number and compensation of persons appropriated for, for the fiscal year 1906, namely:

Nine members of the Board of Education, three of whom shall be women, to be appointed by the Supreme Court judges of the District of Columbia, to serve without compensation..
