understanding?

the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately,

506. 17 Do not ye understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?

507. 18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.

508. 19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, for nications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

509. 20 These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not aman.

510. 21 TThen Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon.

511. 22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coast, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David;

4 Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled?

5 And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you:

6 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

7 And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet.

8 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of

sorrows.

9 But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and

36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?

37 And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

27 She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.

28 And when she had so said, she went her way, and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, The Master is come, and calleth for thee. 38 Now it came to pass, 29 As soon as she heard as they went, that he en-that, she arose quickly, and tered into a certain village: came unto him. and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.

39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word.

30 Now Jesus was not yet come into the town, but was in that place where Martha met him.

31 The Jews then which were with her in the house, and comforted her, when they saw Mary, that she rose up hastily and went

40. But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her there-out, followed her, saying, fore that she help me.

41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:

She goeth unto the grave to weep there.

32 Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not

513. 24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

514. 25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.

515. 26 But he answered
and said, It is not meet
to take the children's
bread, and to cast it to
dogs.
516. 27 And she said,
Truth, Lord yet the
dogs eat of the crumbs
which fall from their
masters' table.

517. 28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith; beit unto thee even

11 But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.

12 Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death.

13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

14 But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judæa flee to the mountains:

15 And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing

the multitude wondered, when they saw the dumb to speak, the maimed to be whole, the lame to walk, and the blind to see: and they glorified the God of Israel. 521. 32¶Then Jesus called his disciples unto him, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way. 522. 33 And his disciples say unto him, Whence should we have so much bread in the wilderness, as to fill so great a multitude?

16 And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment.

17 But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!

18 And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter.

19 For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.

20 And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.
