AN ACT

Making certain appropriations out of the Territorial Treasury to pay certain debts therein. named.

Be it enacted by the Council and House of Representatives of the Territory of Wisconsin :

SECTION 1. That there shall be appropriated and paid out of any money in the Territorial Treasury, the following sums, for the purposes herein named, to wit:

To Geo. W. Crabb, the sum of forty-two dollars, for printing, as per bill rendered in full, to date.

To Flavius J. Mills, the sum of twenty-three dollars, for publishing governor's proclamation for special session of the legislature, and for printing the constitution of A. D. 1848, and four dollars for papers furnished legislature at extra session. To E. R. Utter, for like service, the sum of twenty-three dollars.

To C. Latham Sholes, the sum of twenty-three dollars for like service.

To C. C. Olin, the sum of twenty-three dollars, for like services,

To H. A. Wright, the sum of twenty-three dollars, for like services.

To Cramer & Curtis, for like services, the sum of twentythree dollars.

To James M. Goodhue, for publishing governor's procla mation, and the constitution, the sum of twenty-three dollars.

To Hyer & Whitney, the sum of three dollars, for publishing the governor's proclamation, 1847.

To J. L. Marsh, the sum of three dollars, for like services.

To J. M. Gillet, the sum of twenty-six dollars, for pub lishing governor's proclamation in two papers, and the constitution.

To Marsh & Bayley, for papers furnished members of the late convention, the present legislature, and for publishing the constitution, the sum of thirty-one dollars and forty cents. To Geo. W. Bliss, for publishing proclamation and constitutton, twenty-three dollars.

To Butler & Whitney, for like service, and for papers furnished, the sum of twenty-nine dollars and seventy-five

cents.

To Alden & Gratten, for publishing proclamation and constitution, the sum of twenty-three dollars.

To Samuel Ryan, for printing in 1846, and for publishing proclamation and the constitution, the sum of forty on dollars.

To W. W. Wyman, for publishing proclamation, three dollars.

To Thomas McHugh, the sum of seventy-five dollars. for enrolling the constitution of Wisconsin, by order of the president of the convention, and forwarding to the PresideL: of the United States.

To George W. Mitchell, for going to the counties of || Brown, Manitowoc, Calumet, and Sheboygan, to procure congressional election returns, for A. D. 1847, the sum one hundred and eighty-five dollars, in full for services.

To Orlin Rood, for going as messenger for a like purpose to the counties of St. Croix, Chippewa, and Crawford, in ful for services, the sum of one hundred and seventy dollars.

To Edward Weisner, on accoun: of freight upon arms from Green Bay to Milwaukee, the sum of eighteen dollars and twenty-five cents.

To. T. & J. W. Johnson, for subscriptions to law library from October, 1844, to July, 1848, the sum of thirty-sever dollars and fifty cents.

To Horatio Tuttle, for five days labor, assisting to prepare

capitol for present session of the legislature, the sum of six dollars and twenty-five cents.

To E. S. Varney, for work done upon the capitol, as per bill, the sum of twenty-seven dollars.

To A. Hyatt Smith, for fees in Territorial suits, the sum of six hundred and fifty dollars, as per bill.

To Edward Bliss, the sum of twenty dollars, for publishing the constitution of A. D. 1848.

To Rufus King, the sum of twenty-three dollars, for like service.

To E. A. Cooley, the sum of twenty-seven dollars, for like service, for newspapers furnished at the present session, and for publishing proclamations.

To Bunner & Stafford, the sun of twenty dollars, for like service, and the sum of nine dollars and seventy-five cents, for papers furnished members of the present legisla

ture.

To Moritz Schaeffler, for printing done by order of the legislature, and for papers, the sum of one hundred and thirtyeight dollors and ninety-five cents.

To James D. Reymert, for like services, the sum of one hundred and thirty nine dollars and twenty-five cents.

To Ernest T. Herzberg, for like services, the sum of one hundred and five dollars.

To Frederick Fratney, for like services, the sum of one hundred and five dollars.

To Levi Booth, for one year's service under the direction of the superintendent of Territorial property, ending February 10th, 1848, the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars.

To J. Gillet Knapp, for various services and expenses, per bill rendered as superintendent of Territorial property, he sum of two hundred and forty-eight dollars and fifty

To Nathan Goodell, for storage of public arms, the sum of en dollars and forty cents.

To Darwin Clark, for work done on the capitol, the sum of ve dollars.

To John T. Wilson, for furnishing materials and work done on the capitol, as per two bills, the sum of sixty-five dollars and fifty cents.

To J. H. Lewis, for tubs furnished for capitol, the sum of one dollar and fifty cents.

To William H. Foot, for hauling three boxes of journals from Milwaukee, the sum of eight dollars.

To Chester Bushnel, for transporting constitution of A. D. 1816 to Beaver Dam and Fond du Lac, the sum of eight dollars.

To Sidney L. Rood, for bill of books, binding, &c., the sum of twenty-eight dollars and sixty-five cents.

To Dean & Co., as per bill, for materials used about the capitol, stationery, &c. the sum of five hundred and sixty dollars and twenty cents.

To Peter Kavanaugh, for labor done on the capitol, as per bill, the sum of forty-one dollars.

To Shields & Sneeden, for articles furnished during the extra session of the legislative assembly, for A. D. 1847, the sum of two dollars and fifty cents.

To David Hyer, for assisting in preparing the capitol for the session of the convention, A. D. 1846, the sum of five dollars.

To James Hopkins, for materials furnished and for work done on the captiol, the sum of twenty-three dollars and thirty nine cents.

To Jonathan Larkin, the sum of twenty-seven dollars and fifty cents, for balance of expenses for procuring safe for use of the Territory.

To Hastie & Skinner, for labor and materials on the capitol, the sum of ten dollars and forty-one cents, in full of ac

counts.

To Edward Beeson, for publishing in the Fond du Lac Journal, the Governor's proclamation convening the extra session of the legislature, and for publishing in the same paper, the constitution, twenty-three dollars.

To John Atkinson, the sum of one hundred and forty-one

dollars and seventy-five cents, for services and expenses in the arrest and return of William Caffee, a fugitive from justice from this Territory.

To Harrison Reed, the sum of one hundred and ninetytwo dollars, for fifty-six days' services, and travel, as member of the committee appointed by the late constitutional convention, for superintending the printing, binding, and preparing an index to the journal of said convention.

To F. S. Lovell, for services and travel as member of said committee, the sum of one hundred and sixty-four dollars.

To George W. Featherstonhaugh, for services and travel on the same committee, the sum of one hundred and sixtyfour dollars.

To P. Kavannaugh, for two days' service, cleaning halls, making fires, &c., at the special session of the legislature, A. D. 1847, the sum of six dollars.

To Beriah Brown, for printing done for the use of the ter ritory, the sum of thirty-six dollars and seventy-five cents.

To Mason C. Darling, for two days' services as president pro tem. of the council at the session begun Oct. 18, 1817, the sum of six dollars.

To Isaac P. Walker, the sum of six dollars, balance due for extra services as speaker of the house of representatives at the special session of Oct. A. D. 1847.

To George Reed, the sum of ten dollars, for balance of mileage at the special session of the legislature for A. D. 1847.

To Peter Rogan the sum of twenty-four dollars, for eight days' services under resolution of the legislature A. D. 1817. To George A. Carey, the sum of five dollars, for work and materials on seal press.

To S. Mills & Co. the sum of two hundred and forty-six dollars and seventy-five cents, for balance of bill of printing for the territory in A. D. 1846 and 7.
