Deborah Faye Carter received her B.A. in sociology and psychology from the University of California-Santa Cruz and then attended the University of Michigan, where she earned her M.A. and Ph.D. in education. She is currently an assistant professor at Indiana University-School of Education (Bloomington, IN).
