The authors detail a long list of quotes attributed to famous individuals, but which were never spoken by those individuals, or which are commonly taken out of context. A good reference for anyone trying to determine if attribution on a quote is accurate; however, because the world of quote creation is a constantly churning one, there are going to be any number of false quotes that have not been included in this book, partially because they were made up too recently. The mere failure of a quote to be included in this collection, therefore, should not be taken as indicative that it is, in fact, accurate. In addition ,the authors make no claim to being exhaustive. One of the finest dispellers of humbug around. It slaughters misquotations from left, right, and centre.
